Rocofit’s Healthy Living Principles

Do you feel you do everything right each week and yet you still aren’t achieving your health and fitness goals?  You might want to lose fat, have more energy and feel stronger, however week on week you’re not seeing much of a change.  Perhaps when you first started it was all going well but now you’ve plateaued and aren’t seeing any further changes.

You might be missing a simple piece of the puzzle.  Being healthy and losing fat takes a lot more than just going to the gym.  The truth is exercise is one small part.  When we exercise we actually damage our body, most of the benefits of exercise actually come from how well we recover between sessions.

In no particular order, here are 12 Principles to live by.  They are attached HERE so you can print them off and put them somewhere visible as a daily reminder.

1. Goal Setting          2. Visualise your goal          3. No Excuse

4. Hydration              5. Eat Breakfast                     6. Quality Food

7. Eliminate               8. Eat Regularly                     9. Variety

10. Good Fats            11. Exercise                             12. Sleep

It may seem like a lot to think about each day but it’s not.  The hardest part is changing daily routines and lifestyle.  It takes at least 21 days to create a good habit, give it a go and stick with it!

Click HERE for  Rocofit’s checklist.  This is a weekly chart for you to keep track of how you’re doing with the principles above. Place this on your fridge or somewhere visible.  Each day place a tick in the boxes that you’ve achieved and leave blank the ones you didn’t quite get.  At the end of the week have a look at your chart and look at the areas you struggled with.  For example you may be struggling with getting enough sleep or drinking the recommended water intake. Once you know what area you are missing out on, you can use this to set your goal for the next week.  Many times we think we’re doing everything right but with busy schedules and daily demands things can easily be forgotten with out us realising.

Writing things down is a powerful tool not to be underestimated.  Challenge yourself to do this for a month.  At the end of the month take your four CHARTS and have a look at how you’ve progressed.
