Are Health Foods Making You Fat?

You may be shocked to hear that some of the foods you’re eating with all the best intentions to lose fat and be healthy are actually contributing to your cravings, energy levels and your body storing fat.

Nothing is more maddening then the amazing marketing of health foods.  Foods such as energy drinks, healthy yoghurts, whole wheat breads, low fat crackers, cereals, etc.  If you read the labels carefully you will notice that these foods are full of harmful substances such as hydrogenated oils, vegetable oil, artificial sweeteners, soya and many things you probably can’t pronounce!

But if they’re low in calories why are these things making you fat?  It’s simple.  Your body has to work extra hard to detox itself from these substances.  You’re liver is your best friend when it comes to burning fat.  It is responsible for many functions a couple being: metabolizing fat and eliminating toxins.  If you’re body is busy eliminating harmful toxins then it can’t work as hard at breaking down fats to use them as energy.

If you want to lose fat, increase energy and feel great then you need to be good to your liver.  Do this by:

  • Eating plenty of fibre in the form of fruits and vegetables
  • Limit or eliminate toxins in your diet
  • Eliminate sugar, especially hidden sugars
  • Drink plenty of water
  • Eat healthy fats such as olive oil, avacodos, coconut oil

The easiest way to be good to your liver it to choose foods that contain very few ingredients, one is best!
