Eat After Training!
There’s nothing more frustrating than watching well intentioned people training hard to achieve results only to see most of that hard work wasted, simply because they didn’t take their post nutrition as seriously as the training.
If you train, you MUST eat straight afterwards. Very simply put when you train you break down your muscles, if you don’t eat soon after to start the repair process then you can actually end up losing muscle mass. This is bad news if you’re working hard to lose fat or to put on muscle weight.
What to have after a work out?
As soon after training as possible it’s important to have protein and carbohydrates. Yes you heard that, carbs! This is a good time to have carbs and enjoy them.
It’s important to have protein that is easily digestible. My favourite is a whey protein shake. There are many brands out there, look for one that is as natural as possible and free from artificial sweeteners.
When to eat after working out? As soon as possible (a few minutes) and definitely within an hour
Take your nutrition as serious as you take your training!
