Do You Feel Tired After Lunch?

Rusty car Do You Feel Tired After Lunch?Do you find after you’ve eaten lunch or dinner you simply want to take a nap? It takes everything in you to stay awake? You simply feel lethargic, have heavy eyes and feel drained?

Many people accept this as a normal thing, mostly because everyone around them feels the same?  Having people feel the same way doesn’t mean it’s ok.

If you feel this way it likely has very little to do with your sleep and everything to do with what you are eating?

Food should give you energy, not take it away! Like petrol for a car, food is your fuel.  If your eating high energy nutrient dense foods your body will run better. Give it low energy nutrient deficient foods and like a car with bad fuel your body will slow down, rust and eventually need to go to the garage.  In other words you will slowly become ill, likely develop digestive issues and eventually end up in a doctors office if not worse.

If you are feeling sluggish after a meal have a look at what you had.  Was it bright and colourful? Did it contain a variety of foods, some high quality protein and good fats?  Or was it some sort of heavy wheat based, low quality protein or some fake food claiming it has zero fat?

Listen to your body and the way it feels, it’s trying to tell you something. If you listen in time you can still have an incredibly fine tuned machine that will keep on giving, if not then before you know it you will see the rusty effects.
Be good to yourself!
