Do you feel like September is your new year? Time for a fresh start? Bring back routine? I sure do. I’m sure it has a lot to do with being a school teacher for years… I so love September. It really is a time to reassess goals and go for it.
September for me is more powerful than New Years. It’s a time to look at the goals I set in January and realise either I’ve smashed them, forgotten them or they’re weighing me down as I realise I haven’t gotten started.
The cool part about September is you still have 1/3 of the year left to finish strong; to still achieve those goals you dreamed of at the start of the year.
So what is that one goal you’ve been procrastinating on? Do you truly want to achieve it? Why?
If you still want to achieve it I recommend choosing 2-3 simple daily habits that will get you there. For example if it has to do with health what are 2-3 things you can do every single day that will make a big difference:
Get your workout in
Say no to friends who jeopardize your goals
Wake up early
Turn off the technology an hour before getting to bed.
Prepare your meals the day before
What ever it is that you choose be sure to track it and keep it somewhere visible so you can see your activity. When you do what you say you’re going to do it makes you a stronger person. Choose 3 simple habits you can do, don’t go crazy, be realistic. As you become stronger you can move on to more challenging habits.
One book that was a real game changer for me was the The Compound Effect Understanding this concept has helped me to make simple changes that have resulted in huge gains.
Go for it! Focus on that one goal you know will make you feel amazing come the end of the year!
Health & Happiness
PS. If you feel like you just can’t commit and keep failing don’t hesitate to read The Compound Effect I purchased the hard copy and later the audio to listen to as often as needed. It’s amazing how learning about something is empowering and understanding it makes committing and following through so much easier.
