Body weight workouts are incredibly tough and effective! It’s amazing how many people I get asking me for workouts and when I send them to my youtube body weight workouts I know they’re not doing them because they don’t feel they are tough enough.
The fact is body weight works and until you are at the point of lifting very heavy weights with good form, the resistance from body weight is more of a workout. Think about doing a push up with your entire weight as appose to doing a bench press with 5kgs weights. Which one will feel harder?
The key with body weight its to make your mind focus on the muscles, how they feel, how they are moving, what the tension is like, etc. Connecting your mind to your muscles will bring you even faster results. For example you can do a quick squat without thinking about it, simply drop and then stand up, or you can slow it all down, tense your abs, engage your back and feel your feet firmly on the ground. The second squat with out a doubt will bring you better results.
